The Tapeworm is also known as Cestoda. The Tapeworm is hermaphroditic, meaning it has both male and female reproductive systems in its body. Self-fertilization is another way the Tapeworm can reproduce but it is uncommon. Cross-fertilization between two individuals is often practiced for reproduction in order to permit hybridization. During copulation, the cirrus of one worm connects with the cirrus of the other through the genital pore. The worms then exchange sperm.
